Meet the Counselors
Mr. Eash is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Arts with High Distinction in English. For more than a decade, he has worked at Choate’s Summer Programs where he was Director of the English Language Institute, overseeing curriculum, faculty and teaching interns. Prior to joining the College Counseling Office, Mr. Eash was an educational consultant for The Scholars Program at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, as well as a University of Michigan lecturer in the New England Literature Program.
Ms. Flygh joined the College Counseling staff in the fall of 2011. Prior to coming to Choate, she served as an Assistant Dean of Admission at Phillips Academy, Andover. A post-graduate student at Andover, Ms. Flygh went on to play women’s hockey at Harvard where she was captain of the women’s varsity hockey team. From 2008-10, Ms. Flygh worked at the Harvard Admission Office and was Director of the Joint Travel Recruitment Program.
Marcia L. Landesman joined the College Counseling staff during the summer of 2013. She spent 14 years in university administration — 12 years at Yale University, most recently as Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, and two years as Assistant Dean of Admission at Swarthmore College. She loves working with young people and talking with students and parents about college in general. Ms. Landesman has a B.A. from Swarthmore College and a J.D. from NYU School of Law.
Ms. Maloney joined the College Counseling team in the summer of 2021. She graduated summa cum laude from Sacred Heart University with a B.A. in History and received her M.A. in History from the University of Connecticut while teaching undergraduates as a teaching assistant. Ms. Maloney continued her work in higher education as an admissions counselor at Trinity College prior to coming to Choate. She serves on the Professional Development Committee for the New England Association for College Admissions Counseling (NEACAC).
A graduate of Boston College with an M.A. in Higher Education from Harvard University, Ms. Minneman joined the Choate College Counseling Office in 2016. She brings extensive experience in college counseling, having worked as a college counselor at Kent School and, more recently, as Associate Director of College Counseling at Miss Porter’s School. Ms. Minneman has also served as a class dean and varsity swim coach. While working on her master’s degree, she worked as an Admissions Intern at the Harvard University Law School Office of Admissions.
Ms. Thompson-Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from Roberts Wesleyan College. She began her career in higher education at the University of Rochester where she spent over eight years in the undergraduate admissions office and then served for a year and a half as the inaugural Director of the Intercultural Center. Ms. Thompson-Taylor then made the move to the other side of the desk, working as Associate Director of College Counseling at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire prior to joining the team at Choate.
Mr. Zelaya holds a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College, and an M.A. in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College. He started his career in undergraduate admissions, as an Assistant Director of Admission and Transfer Coordinator at Trinity College. He brings admission and college counseling experience at the secondary school level at St. Mark’s School in Southborough, Massachusetts and recently as Associate Director of College Counseling at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge. He serves as Assembly Delegate for the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC). He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
